FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY

Family photography captures adorable moments and the intense love and character of a family. As your family grows, these invaluable memories are what we live to capture.

As a seasoned photographer, Sara's family photography is infused with all the nuances of a family. Sara's clients love her attention to detail, and her focus on the special bond between parents and children.

Your session will generally lasts 1 hour (exluding weddings or mini sessions). Sara would look forward to capturing your Engagement, Wedding, Maternity, Family photography, treasured moments captured in time for years to come.

Fotoco Australia have a different range of locations we can use and are also willing to travel to meet your vision.

Photography is not simply taking a photo of your subjects, but requires a great deal of knowledge about shutter speed, aperture, and exposure of natural light, family photographer using flash or any other artificial light and several other factors. More importantly, a photographer knows how to work with your subjects, making them feel comfortable, connected, engaged and also posing them in a flattering manner in a setting that does not distract. Sara brings all of this valuable knowledge when photographing your family.

Family photography can be stressful aswell, i get it, things arent going to plan kids arent doing what is expected. After 10 years of photography i can tell you that it doesnt always have to be that way. Your family can read, play, run around, have fun and just let the moments happen. You can already breathe easy as you have coordinated beautiful outfits and everyone is looking amazing.  Let me show you how it's done with a fun session with me.

WHAT TO WEAR

What you wear will depend on the time of year, the setting, the occasion, and ultimately your unique personality. It’s always a safe bet to be in touch with us about your photo shoot outfits, but here are some general ideas about what to wear to a photoshoot:

Keep accessories and jewelry very simple, or skip it altogether.

Stick to solid, muted colors–earthy tones, muted gem tones, monochrome, beige, and taupe are great examples. Try to avoid patterns. Try to avoid same colour matching. Each person needs to stand out with their own separate colour preferably.

Low contrast outfits (if your shirt is pure white, go for slightly darker color bottom pieces.)

Flatter your figure–don’t wear clothes that are entirely too tight or loose, or clothes that accentuate your insecurities. Wear something you feel beautiful in.

Wear sleeves or quarter-sleeves if weather permits. In my experience, the women I photograph are most insecure about the way their arms appear. Covering your arms may take the focus away from them and flatter their shape at the same time.

Dress in long skirts, pants, or dresses. There is just something about a long flowy dress that photographs so beautifully, and you will have so much fun wearing one! We also have a small client wardrobe so be sure to ask about this option.

Wear your hair how you like it, but typically stay away from ponytails. Typically, the looser and more flexible the style, the better!

Coordinate your clothing–in group photos, try to keep everyone on the same page and color palette of 2-4 colors. The best tip I recommend for a place to start your family outfit planning is to pick one item of clothing with a few colors (like mom or daughter’s dress - solid colours look great) and pull colors from that for everyone else to wear. Dress like you go together. Dad and son for instance may wear beige pants and a white top and beige (could be slightly darker) pants and a white top with very simple light colour patterns.

A flowy dress is perfect for capturing the atmosphere. It’s also comfortable to wear, and it’s flattering for most body types.
This is also an excellent idea for family photo outfits because mothers and daughters can wear the same/similar dress style with different colours.
